Wu Jintang, (1855-1926) people from Cixi, Zhejiang. In 1885, he went to Japan to business with 50000g silver, in Qiwang(Chinese:祈望) he opened the Yisheng(Chinese:怡生) business, and opened the Yisheng(Chinese:义生) business in Shanghai, engaged in the sale of Chinese and Japanese goods. He sold Japanese matches, soaps and umbrellas to China, and exported Chinese cotton and silk to Japan for profit. Later he ran the cement factory, became one of the ten big giants in the Meiji and Tai Zheng years of Kansai industry in Japan.
In 1911, He had donated water conservancy works to improve flood control, which has benefited more than 20,000 mu of farmland. Established Jintang pedagogic school in Cixi,Ningbo, China.
In 1926, he died in Kobe, Japan.
In 1900, the Eight Allied forces attacked China. In the Beijing and Tianjin area, people were plunged into misery and suffering, there’re floods in the Yangtze River Basin. Wu Jintang donated 150000g silver to the country in two times.
